Moneo’s extension to the Prado, Madrid’s world-renowned art gallery, is a beautifully crafted building, mostly hosted underground. The red-brick pavilion that announces the presence of the extension gives access to an enormous foyer, with cafe, bookshop, a large 400-seat auditorium, temporary exhibition galleries and the restoration studios and workshops.
